OnePlus 2 Smartphone gets Android Marshmallow Update
Reports arriving from the market that the Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has released Android Marshmallowupdate for its OnePlus 2 smartphone. The company has made an official announcement via its twitter account and through its official online forum about the latest OxygenOS 3.0.2 OTA update. All the OnePlus 2 devices will receive the update over the air. The company says that it will take two to three days for 100 percent roll out of the Android Marshmallow update. The latest update weighs about 141MB and users can manually check for the status by navigating to phone’s Settings, About Phone and Software Update. Any user who has not received the update over the air can visit the OnePlus forum, where they can download the OxygenOS 3.0.2 update file.
The latest Android Marshmallow update brings several enhancements and brand new features such as an improved fingerprint detection, a brand new Doze battery saving feature, better camera user interface with autofocus optimisation, improved shelf UX and an updated Swiftkey version 6.3.3. OnePlus has stated that the user will have to register their finger prints again after the installation of Android Marshmallow based Oxygen OS 3.0.2 update. However, this is applicable only for those who have opted for fingerprint unlock feature before the update.
OnePlus 2 Smartphone was introduced in India in the year 2015. It was powered by Android Lollipop OS based OxygenOS 3.0 operating system. The device features a 5.5 inch full HD display with a screen resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. The OnePlus 2 smartphone comes with a Snapdragon 810 Octa-core processor that is mated with a Adreno 430 GPU along with 4 GB of RAM. The device weighs about 175 grams and measures 151.8 x 74.9 x 9.85 mm (Length Width and Thickness). In terms of camera, it sports a 13 megapixel rear camera featuring dual LED flash lights. At front, the OnePlus 2 features a 5 megapixel front camera. The smartphone supports dual band WiFi, GPS with GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.1 and 4G LTE Connectivity.
